Energy psychology is a relatively new method of therapy, developed forty years ago, that combines Eastern therapeutic approaches with Western psychotherapy techniques. Energy psychotherapy approaches involve tapping on acupuncture points with your fingers while thinking about a distressing symptom in a new, empowering way. Tapping on the acupuncture points produces a calming feeling that helps to neutralize the distressing symptom. Thinking about the symptom from an empowered perspective further helps to neutralize its negative charge.
I utilize energy psychology techniques in therapy sessions and teach my clients to practice them at home. I have found them to be very helpful for providing relief from a variety of symptoms, including: anxiety, depression, phobias, PTSD, insomnia, addictions and compulsive behaviors.
